Chinese Knots

Introduction To Chinese Knots:

Chinese Knotting is an amazing hand craft with a history that reaches far back into the past. By and large, Chinese Knotting has been passed from one person to another verbally because there is a part of this art that is extremely difficult to explain with pictures or text. I would like to share with very special artisan hand craft with you.

This will be a fun and informative three session course dedicated to learning the basic knots needed to create jewellery, crafts, gifts and a myriad of other things. In addition to learning the knots, we will talk about supplies and materials, I will show you how to handle the cord, make a tassel, and use jewellery findings. I will give you useful tips for combining the knots in creative ways to make your creation truly unique. You will have step-by-step instruction pages for each knot to use while learning them and these pages will go home with you for your reference.

At each class, you will have a fun project to make and take home with you. At the end of this course, you will bring together all that you have learned and design a special project to make in the second half of the final class.

This is a three session course of 3 hours; 9 hours total. Included in this course is a reference manual with instruction pages for each knot; all cords and materials; and supplies for you to use during class.

Chinese Knots: Advanced Knots:

These single session classes concentrate on a single Chinese knot or a series of knots that all build off of a single base knot. These classes are ideal for those wanting to broaden their knowledge of the amazing art of Chinese knots and start combining knots in unique ways to create your own designs

All classes are approximately 3 hours. Included in this course are instruction pages for each knot, all cords and materials, and supplies for you to use during class.

Chinese Knots: Projects

These single session classes focus on a project and all the knots needed to complete it. No previous experience is necessary. The projects are fun to make and easy to learn, yet make gifts that will bring smiles to everyone who receives them.

All classes are approximately 3 hours. Included in this course are instruction pages for each knot and the project, all cords and materials, and supplies for you to use during class.
