Pearl Knotting Classes

Introduction to Pearl Knotting and Necklace Creation:

Whether you are inspired by pearls or beads, the knotting technique is an indispensable one for jewellery makers.  I will start this class with a few handouts and a discussion about pearls and their characteristics.  You will learn all of the materials needed in creating a necklace and tips on how to care for that necklace.  We will then learn the basics of the knotting technique and practice it prior to starting your necklace.  The other technique you will be learning is how to begin and end a necklace on a clasp.   At the end of this session, you will have a completed necklace to be proud of and wear home.

This is a one session course of approximately 3 hours.  Included in the course are handouts and instructions for making your necklace, thread, needles and basic findings.  The cost of pearls will be extra and I have a wide selection of shapes, sizes and colors to choose from.   If you wear classes for close work, it is advisable that you bring them with you.

Pre-Requisite:  None

Open Forum Pearl Class:

This is an open forum class for you to create whatever inspires you.  You can copy one of my designs (continuous rope, lariat, multi-strand, designed, etc.) or you can design a unique creation.  Once you know your design and choose your pearls, I will advise and assistance.
